WHAT’S PLAYING: The Eagles “The Best of My Love”
Among the many odd jobs I had as a teenager, wrestling alligators was probably the most dangerous…and the best paying, which is sad because it only paid about $8/hour.

Still, I managed to earn almost $200 before my mother found out and put the kibosh on the whole thing.
Did I mention that I was thirteen at the time?

Before you judge, thirteen isn’t that young. The girl pictured above began wrestling alligators at the ripe old age of six.

You win at being the baddest of badasses that I’ve known!

Thanks, but I have to say the crown goes to the girl who started wrestling alligators when she was six.

LOL wow. You don’t find jobs like that just anywhere. They let 13 year olds (and six year olds) wrestle alligators, but they won’t let them be janitors or wait on tables? *confused*
Nice money too! I can’t imagine why your mother felt like she had to put a stop to this. Seems innocent enough

Yes, I don’t understand the logic either. Of course, it helps you live near an actual swamp. I mean, as long as the alligators are there, you might as well wrestle them for fun and profit.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to keep the money I earned. My mother used it to start a college fund in hopes I’d find a safer way to earn a living. By the time I was ten, she’d pretty much given up on turning me into a “normal” kid. Her sole purpose had become making sure I survived into adulthood.
